sign in the background of second photo is cute too.
At one point, all the grocery stores in my city used to have a bar where one could get growlers filled from local breweries. If you wanted to try a particular beer, you could pay a quarter for a little Dixie cup taster. On Friday nights, these bars would be filled with husbands having tiny beer tasters while their wives shopped for groceries, and we'd call it Husband Day Care. Someone would wave a dollar bill and say "I've got the next round!" As one could imagine, this only lasted for maybe a year or two.

gearheads can spot one another
Last Sunday we went to our favorite Mexican place, and predictably it was packed (May 5th). We were sitting outside on the patio facing the parking lot, and I spent a good portion of the dinner admiring one fellow's Y34 Infinity M45 parked in the lot. The spot next to it opened up as someone left, and when a pickup truck was preparing to back into the space, I saw one person's head quickly revolve to watch the proceedings. A few minutes later I asked him if it was his as he passed our table, he affirmed and I complimented his beautiful ride. He was considerably younger than me (I'm 49), with a full tattoo sleeve. I don't know exactly what it was about him other than he fit the vibe of an import owner...but you're absolutely correct that gearheads can spot one another.
