@Roadkilled Yeah, it's mostly water under the bridge for most people, those companies today have nothing to do with that era. My gramps came back from the war in the Pacific and almost immediately bought a Beetle. His attorney job was on embassy row in DC and there was a huge cross-pollenation of car makes/models in the 50s as diplomats brought stuff over from Europe (and later, Asia). Later he had a couple of Mazdas. He held zero grudge against the former Axis, the way he saw it was it was 99% soldiers just doing their required jobs, same as he was. Including a lot of ugly stuff.
OTOH, my parents' old neighbors (Jewish family) was very overt in never buying anything with a German badge, and that was 10 years ago.
Everybody processes it all differently.
