Other than gasoline and wings, I'm not sure offhand what a C-47 would have in common with a Spitfire or even a Lancaster...
The Chipmunk seems like a thing that is not like the other things as well, in both technology and wartime relevance as it hadn't been invented yet. I think the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight keeps it around as a tailwheel trainer. A Tiger Moth would be the WW2 equivalent.
They do all have some similarities in age, though, and even diligent maintenance can only do so much to make up for that...
