Beauty is sometimes not just about the looks, sometimes the story behind it can help increase the beauty.

The last Daytona to race in NASCAR, in the 1971 season. Owned by Mario Rossi and piloted by Richard Brooks, this was the only "aero" car to hit the track in 1971, powered by a comparatively diminutive Keith Black-built 305ci V8 that supposedly was capable of turning over 10,000RPM, it proved better than any other Daytona had, that power wasn't everything. Brooks stayed in contention for the lead for a large portion of the race, even leading for 5 laps, until a crash forced him in for repairs. Despite that, he still placed seventh overall.
And to me, that's truly beautiful. (Also, the car is bloody gorgeous.)
