I have no idea how easy it is to manually force the gear down, especially in a state where something clearly failed.
That would depend on how fucked it is. There are things that can be broken which would prevent "forcing it down".
I have seen cases in the past where it was dropped out by the mechanics, but every plane and every situation is different.
Perhaps they thought that even after forcing it out, that it wouldn't support the weight to be towed.
@Danny-Drives huh.....somehow...i missed every one of your 700 and some posts....
i was about to give you shit for just popping in here with a plug....good thing i checked first
could have made an ass out of myself there.... (you know...more than usual)
@beefchips I don't do free anymore. It's 20 bucks and if you're not a moron when you come you get it it will be free anyway. Free means your time is free too.
@іди-на-хуй-Влад-formerly-known-as-Distraxi The car should not be able to start w/o the fob inside the car. They have multiple sensors so they can detect not just range but location like a mini GPS.
My FR-S won't even start if the fob is in the door bin with the door is open.
@AkioOhtori it always pisses me off when dealers actively, passively deter me from shutting them up so they can take my money. C'mon, you guys have one job. To sell. Is that so much to ask?
@RallyDarkstrike I thought you would have recognised that- it’s a Citroen GS IMG_3661.jpeg
The guy that built it was big into his Citroens apparently.
The bondo situation isn’t too bad, there’s a bit of a skim over the roof join but not really any on the other panels. The main problem is all the other steel that is there is in various stages of dissolving. One of the rear spring mounts just isn’t there any more.
@derp Hmm, didn't realize modern Zippos still did (you can tell I'm not a smoker). I see they are still naphtha as well (which is presumably why they need a wick?)
In the pilot programs I was briefed on, people with ICE vehicles that switched to the RUC only paid the difference between the gas tax and the RUC. In many cases, they received a refund since they paid more in gas tax than they would have under the RUC mileage calculation.
Oh nice! That’s a pleasant surprise for my cynical self 🙂
@BaconSandwich i'm not sure how much is too much to eat in a sitting but I usually put away about a quart. between the golf and landscaping and building a shed i'm trying to keep my weight up - a problem I never had for 35 years
The build quality was horrendous. Even if you didn't abuse them, the Omni and Horizon wouldn't last that long. You would really need to love one of these to keep it running more than 10 years.
The 1981 Omni was my mother's car and my father had a 1982 Dodge Aries wagon. The K-Car held up far better than the Omni. (You know a car is bad when a K-Car gets held up as the standard of reliability.)
My mother got rid of the Omni after 6 years and got a Honda CRX Si. That only made the Omni look worse.
@Cé-hé-sin it could have been the dealer taking advantage of her, possibly
Could be, a refurbished battery for an '07 Civic Hybrid is $900-$1,000, but that is just for the part, there's a decent amount of labor involved if she's doing it at a shop
@siennaman Even in 2002, when I bought my base-model manual Protege, I had a choice between two on the lot: white... and white.
I’ll admit, at first was going to say 1992, but I figured too many folks would point out correctly that there were at least a few still in the early aughts..
