The trifecta is to keep the same subject line and start talking about something else completely. You know, so later when you're searching for a topic, you have to remember the person hijacked their own email chain. Weird.
Classic. This happened to me just yesterday. Took me 20 minutes to find a phone number from an email thread from a few weeks ago. Maddening.
No problem. Their phone number is in their email signature. Wait...
Some people are neanderthals and don't have their sig in every email they send or responses.
Also, the number. was looking for was actually part of the email, not the signature...
Oh your phone number issue and people not having it in their signature OR not always attaching their signature reminded me of something else....
I work in a big company with people across different time zones.
But in spite of this, it seems that some people don't understand that time zones are a thing and that 9am for you (in place like Germany) just might be 'the middle of the night' for someone else in North America like me.
And when you have conversations with some of these people and they'll say "let's meet at 10am tomorrow" and I know they're in a different time zone, I've gotten into the habit of saying "My time or your time? Because we are not in the same time zone... "
