@facw @Ad-absurdum-per-aspera I always kind of split the difference and used a laptop shoulder bag.
I'm a backpack "aficionado" (I have about 10...) but never in a business setting, I just couldn't ever get on board. They always felt like the equivalent of short-sleeve dress shirts or pocket protectors 🙂
Practically, though, I like shoulder bags because you can swing them around to the front and grab whatever you need. Plus they only wrinkle one shoulder of a dress shirt, not both.
I also just suffer from "the crap expands to fit the bag you use" so avoiding backpacks helps me stay minimalist/paperless, even though backpacks are the best of all worlds. I have a weird thing about not wanting to feel like I'm in middle school again...
